The amazing Totally Thames Festival has ended for another year, and so have summer evenings in the roof top garden with Midnight Apothecary. But the entertainment continues: this week A Piano in the Amazon, Choral Favourites from Collegium Musicum, and in the chilly weather cocktails and Cabaret Down the Shaft with Tricity Vogue. Abigail Collins dances Swan Lake on traffic cones. October 16th What’s My Wine? is a chance to pit your wits (in teams) against three wine experts and win case of wine!
If you would like to help (and watch/take part in) our busy and expanding events programme, or greet visitors or help in the cafe please get in touch. The Museum is proud holder of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary work, and every week we meet new and talented volunteers.
Thursday is National Poetry Day A Care for Gaps or Let’s Play by John Hegley, Friend of Museum
Let’s dig tunnels
Let’s build bridges
Let’s get close
Like clouds of midges
What was under
Mr Brunel’s hat?
His love-letters
and his sandWIDGES
Let us cross that big divide
Let us go and co-incide
And with the space between deducted
Let us mind
what’s been constructed
