The Brunel Museum is delighted to be taking part in this year’s Arts For Impact campaign with The Big Give!
Help us build bridges – between 12pm (midday) 17th March and 12pm (midday) 24th March, donate whatever you can to our fundraising campaign, and your donation will be doubled thanks to the Brunel Museum’s own supporter network. With your help, we’ll make our schools programme more accessible for every single learner.

What’s happening?
Too many children miss out on hands-on science and heritage learning because museum experiences aren’t designed for all bodies and minds. At the Brunel Museum, some key activities are currently inaccessible to wheelchair users, and neurodiverse pupils often lack sensory support. In our diverse urban area with limited STEAM opportunities, this means some local schools and pupils are excluded from fully engaging with the inspiring science and heritage beneath their own neighbourhood.
We’re adding to our schools programme so every child can take part. By creating accessible sensory bags and by training our team in inclusive practice, we’ll bring hands-on science and heritage directly to all learners. This approach removes physical and sensory barriers, supports diverse needs, and opens up the Brunel Museum’s story to more schools, pupils, and teachers in our local community.
What’s more, we’re going to make sure we can track and evaluate the impact of what we do – if the changes we make are meaningful, we want to hear about it directly from our visitors. That way, we can keep improving in future.
