Join researcher Naima El Halili-Kintlerova (QMUL) to discover findings from her recent research project, Mapping Global Movement to the Thames Tunnel.
Naima’s work traces the journeys taken by groups and individuals, such as Ibrahim Pacha of Egypt and the Ojibweg, a group of indigenous Americans, who visited the Thames Tunnel.
By plotting their long journeys to the Tunnel on maps, and placing them into conversation with other objects, she will illuminate both global encounters with the Tunnel and the diverse peoples inhabiting Victorian London as tourists, performers, or migrants.
