Director’s Blog – July 2021

Wedding bells have been ringing at the Brunel Museum this month, with three couples already getting hitched at our venue and another planned at the end of the month. As well as helping to secure the Museum’s financial future, it’s such an honour for me that couples would choose to spend such an important day of their lives with us here at the Brunel Museum. I know the whole team feel the same, which is why we try and make the day as special as we can for each of our couples. If you’re thinking of getting hitched next year, or are even considering a winter wedding, take a look at our packages now.

As another strange and uneven school year comes to an end, its been great having school groups back in the Museum. In the past month, we hosted sessions for Year 1s from St Josephs Primary, all the way up to Year 10s from St Michaels College Bermondsey. We wish all parents, teachers and students a well deserved and restful summer break, and we look forward to welcoming back students in the Autumn term.

For those planning to visit this weekend, a reminder that we are continuing to limit numbers to the Museum and are encouraging prebooking where possible. The health and safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors is paramount. We’ll be continuing to wear our masks, and we ask that you do the same. You can read all about our Covid-19 measures here.
