She has previously held positions as Head of Exhibitions at the National Gallery, London, Head of Exhibitions at the RIBA, Head of Exhibition Co-ordination at Tate Britain, and she was the Courtauld Gallery’s first Registrar. She had a senior career in international publishing before her museums career, working for the Economist newspaper, the BBC, and Reed International Publishing. In her own words: “The Museum has rich resources to share, in the incredible history of the site, and the fantastic stories of the Brunel family that connect so well with current debates around sustainability and the need for resilience and self-belief. The site and its stories also have the power to inspire us to look at the wider possibilities of engineering, encouraging us all to engage with innovative thinking around the need for greener and more sustainable cities. Do take a look at our new visitor charter and celebrate with us the values at the heart of the Brunels’ story:
- We celebrate ingenuity, imagination, innovation
- We build courage in our young people supporting their discoveries within the science, technology, engineering, arts and maths framework
- We nurture community and inclusiveness
- We encourage participation and responsibility
- We value play, co-creation and interaction”.
