The Brunel Museum is a much-loved cultural landmark in the London Borough of Southwark, telling the story of the Thames Tunnel – the first tunnel under a navigable river anywhere in the world. The Museum displays are housed in the Engine House, a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Next to the museum, our 15-metre-deep Grade II listed Tunnel Shaft* provides a breathtaking and atmospheric space for events. Its soaring brickwork and stunning acoustics create an unforgettable backdrop for Christmas parties.

You can also add our Botanical Rooftop Garden to your hire — a hidden oasis above the Grand Entrance Hall, complete with lush planting, twinkling lights, and glowing fire pits. Perfect for welcome drinks, mingling, and toasts under the stars.
