Our Volunteers and Our Mission – What Would You Like From Us?

Photograph of volunteers and staff at the museum in 2017

Whilst we cannot physically open the museum, our volunteers are still working hard to fulfil the mission of the museum: To preserve and share widely the ground-breaking stories of the Thames Tunnel project and the outstanding achievements of the Brunel family and their relevance to our lives today. We inspire communities through exploration, learning and performance.

We are adding content to our website about the Brunel family and their achievements, about the local area, and about the museum itself and those who work there. If you are curious about our volunteers, you can find out a bit more about some of them here:

We would also like to hear from you – what would you like to see more of from us? You can contact us via any of our social media accounts Twitter/Instagram/Facebook or by email:

If you buy from Amazon you can donate to us at NO COST to yourself – just access Amazon via this link: and they will do the rest. It will not change your Amazon experience or the prices that you see, but Amazon will donate a small amount to the museum, which would especially help us during the COVID-19 crisis, as we no longer have a regular museum income.
