Evaluation Volunteer
Brunel Museum Reinvented is a transformational National Lottery-funded project for the Museum which celebrates the Thames Tunnel – the first tunnel under a river anywhere in the world. Refreshed exhibition displays, a wider range of events and activities and a new visitor building will enable us to welcome more visitors with an enhanced visitor experience that really puts the Museum on the map.
Our volunteers are crucial to the Museum, and through this project we are able to offer a wider range of exciting new volunteering opportunities. These roles will support the Museum’s expanded activity programme, whilst offering the chance to learn skills, gain experience and meet new people.
About this Role
Volunteers will assist with the capturing of monitoring data at the events and activities they support. This data will be used to improve, inform, and expand the Museum’s public engagement offering and other programmes.
They will receive training to support them in this work by the monitoring and evaluation consultant, with ongoing support provided by the museum team. Through the training and delivery of evaluation, volunteers will gain a range of transferable skills, including research, evaluation, data analysis, use and application of data, statistics and sampling.
Volunteers will use a toolkit of pre-prepared templates and forms created in collaboration with the consultant when the evaluation framework is designed.
The volunteers will support with methods of evaluation such as: visitor surveys, event feedback forms; number counts; comments cards; website analysis; digital analystics etc.
All volunteers will be trained in front of house skills, providing a good understanding of the running of the Museum, and a strong foundation for involvement in other roles.
