Can you dig it?

Drop in to our new Tunnellers’ Tales object-handling desk to find out!

Was digging the Thames Tunnel the worst job in the world? This February half-term, put yourself in the shoes (literally) of the brave workers who dug the Thames Tunnel. They faced disgusting conditions, terrible smells and even the odd explosion or two!

Families and children of all ages are invited to roll up their sleeves, get hands-on with props inspired by the Victorian era, and bring history to life with this interactive experience.

Tunnellers’ Tales is aimed at children aged 7-11 – But younger and older siblings are very welcome! Discover what else to do as a family at the Brunel Museum.

Tunnellers’ Tales is included with a general admission ticket for entry to the Museum: book yours below!

Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult during their visit. This activity is led by volunteers, and is thus reliant on volunteer availability.

Tunnellers’ Tales was designed by Holiday Donaldson and Lydia Reed.
